About the Practitioner

In 1992 Melissa graduated from New Hampshire Technical College with an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  She moved from New Hampshire and began her career at Southern Maine Medical Center in the Physical Therapy Department.  It was here that she had her first introduction to manual therapies.  In 1994, she took her first Myofascial course with John F. Barnes, PT and became absolutely enthralled with myofascial techniques and treatments. Melissa is now an expert level practitioner and completed course work in the fall of 2014.  As a Physical Therapist Assistant, she already had many tools for the treatment of trauma, being accidental, surgical or accumulative.  However, it didn't take long to realize that myofascial release was not only the most effective tool in treating pain, it was also one of the most liked techniques by all of her patients.   Myofascial release is a safe and effective modaility in the treatment of pain.

Melissa became a Massage Therapist in 2011 so that she could reach out to more of the public and in 2012  joined the many talented therapists at the Saco Healing Arts Center.  Melissa is really passionate about her work and enjoys assisting people in relieving their discomfort and pain to allow for a pain free active lifestyle.
